Budget Travel - Looking Desperately for a flight from SFO to Singapore

Any particular airline? And what do you consider to be "cheap"?

Ideally between 500-800. I do have mileage with United, but if its cheap, I wont mind another airlines for the miles.

or try an internet search for airline consolidators, priceline, hotwire, or an airlines last minute deals.

You have to be specific. Are you looking for one-way or round-trip, upgradeable or not, date to travel?

SIN fares have been pretty high for the dates I searched for myself getting to DPS. Instead I jumped all over the cheap HKG fares and burned 20K to get from HKG-SIN-DPS.

I think you've ben given a welcoming and informative introduction to this forum.

That is a pretty tall order indeed, even before taxes, and I'm guessing you want that to be an "all in" price. Nonethless, you were given some good advice above. All I can add is to check out deals on Eva Air (http://www.evaair.com). Look at HOT E FARE on right side of the page. I did see San Francisco - Taipei, from USD700 on the main page but that is before taxes and fuel surcharges. Hopefully you can find a deal to SIN.

You may want to investigate LAX-HKG fares and see if you can do some add-ons for the cities you need.

I picked some random dates in April and got LAX-HKg for $505 all in on Asiana. You could combine that with a cheap SFO-LAX and HKG-SIN, and likely be under your $800 max. This strategy may get a little problematic if you have flight cancellations - combining three tickets creates lots of opportunities for connection issues. you may be better off increasing your max and getting a through flight (note that NW is $889 on vayama.com all in for SFO-SIN, not sure if it's bookable).
