The Boston Marathon is one of the harder ones to get in to as a registrant. They have pretty restrictive qualifying time limits and only allow a (relatively) small number of runners. So this is actually a pretty good prize for marathon runners. That being said, they need your history of times to make sure that you can meet the requirements of the race.
This is a pretty good contest with a very small target audience.

Wow.... running in the Boston Marathon is a dream come true!!! I ran the New York City Marathons in 2006 and 2007 and the ardinaline rush is undescribable! If not for contests like these, I will never qualify for Boston!
Yes, they have the most restrictive times to qualify! Boston is also part of the Marathon grand slam (along with New York, Chicago, London, and Berlin).
