Las Vegas - Newest slogan "Your Vegas is Showing" needs to be covered up

Been seeing some of the new Vegas commercials featuring its newest slogan, "Your Vegas is Showing." Absolutely boooring. Granted it is a tough act to follow "What happens here, stays here," but "Your Vegas is Showing" is the best they can do?

"It implies that you are living outside of your everyday life," Terry Jicinsky, the authority's senior vice president of marketing, said of the "Your Vegas" slogan. "There is an implication it says something about you as an individual."

Eh...the more I think about it the more it's growing on me.:confused:

I kind of like the campaign! I also like the use of the different venues in the ads.

We read it at the bar after leaving the table. That's when we check our messages. You can't use a cell phone while gambling at a table! You can use them at the bar playing VP, however.

This new slogan reminds me of something we used to say in college...

'Your trailer park is showing'

Based on mainstream, middle-America seeing Vegas as a true glitzy retreat, it may be a perfect new slogan for the city. At least I won't have to hear that insipid 'what happens here, stays here' line anymore. That got old fast.

As for cellphones at tables: I lobbied Oscar Goodman to allow fellow gamblers to taze those who insist on text or talking while trying to hold down a blackjack base. It's bad enough I've got Irene from Idaho to my left taking all of the small cards, but to have to deal with the self-importance of some ninny taking calls while gambling... Well, that's too much.
