Travel Technology - How do I stop GoogleDocs from opening files?

For some reason my browser (Firefox) has been redirecting me to google docs whenever I try opening a .doc/.xls. I checked the manage file types in the options and it is set to open word files with Word and xls files with Excel, but for some reason every time I choose open it goes to google docs and errors out. As far as I know I do not have any physical google docs software installed which could be causing this.

Has this happened to anybody else? If so, how do I revert settings back to the way they are supposed to be?

Hey there,

I'm guessing you have the Google Toolbar installed? I know this isn't the default behavior, so perhaps you or someone using your computer clicked on the "Docs and Spreadsheets" option? If so, that's easy to fix :) Just bring up the Options box again (usually by clicking the right-most icon on your toolbar, I think), and then uncheck that box. Voila! :)

Ah-ha, that worked perfectly! You are my hero :D. I have no idea how that got checked, but at least it's fixed now. This has been a huge annoyance for the past few weeks as I've had to save all Office files to my desktop and then open them, and I'd have to remember to get rid of them later
