Hi.
Never flown US domestic in my life.
I'm looking at going to Vegas next weekend, out Friday evening and return after lunch on the 3rd, Sunday.
From looking at the Jetblue website all seems nice and peachy with atleast 34"!!! seat pitch in coach.
Are they for real? :) Even me at 6'1 can enjoy that.
Flying domestic from JFK; is there anything I should be aware of? I will only have a carry-on. Will 1 hour before departure suffice?
Thanks for any input on this.

Yep, there really is 34" on JFK-LAS flights. If you get lucky, snag one of the 36" seats. Seating is 3x3.
1hr before departure should be fine although I typically like to be at JFK (and all airports) at 1hr before boarding, so 1.5 hrs before departure.
As is common on most carriers in coach these days, there will only be snacks although there are various food choices at the B6 terminal which you can bring aboard if you like.
You will have access to a personal tv in the seatback in front of you.
Other than that, its your typical flight: take-off, cruising, and landing. :)

Yes, 34'' is for real. Exit row and the first few rows in coach even better.
From experience 1 hour should be fine, but that can change during peak travel times. I usually leave Penn Station 2 hours before departure and don't have any trouble, that could change with a train delay however!
You will like jetblue, the DirectTV certainly helps time go by. Just wish they would add in flight games and a better live map like Delta has.
Edit- looks like I was beat by the previous poster....

Boarding usually starts 30minutes prior to departure unless the crew wants to bug out early or there is some weather approaching and the company wants the plane gone before it hits. 1 hour should be plenty of time to transfer in JFK.
Rows 1-10 34" of leg room
Rows 10-11 36" of leg room (exit rows)
-Seats 9A/F and 10A/F do not recline

JetBlueFA, I believe you are wrong.
A320-
- Aisle 1-9 is 36'' of pitch. Seat 9a and 9f do not recline.
- Exit row 10 is 39'' of pitch but 10a and 10f do not recline.
- Exit row 11 is 37'' of pitch.
- Aisle 12-25 has 34'' of pitch.
- Row 25 has 34'' of pitch but limited recline.

:D I guess that's what I get for posting after a full day's of work. I rarely commute on us so I don't get to experience it but those exit rows are wonderful! FlyBDL is correct in his posting. Let me note though not all the planes have been full reconfigured because the FAA changed their minds half way through. Some still have rows 9 and 10 that don't recline at all. Those planes are very few but I have come across a few in the past few month.

I won a trip to NYC to see the Clippers play the Knicks on Monday, and am bringing along another FTer as trip was for 2. Air is on JB. Neither one of us have flown JB previously, so zip status. Currently we're both in middle seats (dif rows-don't care about dif rows part). I asked about exit seats or aisle seats & were told those were assigned at the airport.
Is that true? If we get to either Long Beach or JFK early, what are the odds we can snag (well, me anyway ;) ) aisle seats or if very lucky, exit row seats.
Also, does the JB terminal have free wifi or is there a Starbucks so I can access TMobile? Our return flight on Tues is at 4pm but hotel checkout (of a hotel we don't have status w/) is at noon. Not saying we'd head out that early, but probably earlier than the hour mentioned above in posts above.
Cheers.

No status for anyone; essentially you are in the top tier so don't worry about that.
If the flight isn't full, try changing your seats 24hrs before departure either via check-in or the airport.

Courtesy of JetBlue, there is free wifi at LGB and JFK.
Cheers.
Enjoy the game!
if the exit rows aren't available 24 hrs before flight ...check again...and again :)
This week on my BUR-JFK i checked for the exit row pretty soon after online checkin was available and they were taken. Oh well...
Later that night, a friend of mine on the same flight checked her seats online and was able to snag 2 seats in row 11. ^
oh and since i don't think the B6 forum has a celeb sighting thread, fwiw i spied Aimee Mann (of 'til tuesday fame) and hubby Michael Penn (Sean;s bro and had a 1 hit wonder, "No Regrets" (aka Romeo in Black Jeans)
safe travels and enjoy your visit!

Thanks for the input! Alas, won't let me check in online; might have something to do w/ the tickets being free/some promo. We're going to get to the airport early, so hopefully that will help. If I can't get exit row I'd settle for an aisle (vs the middle we're currently on in both directions).
Cheers.
