Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Economy bulkhead rows on 777-200ER

Hi Folks,

I hope you'll excuse a few questions from a newbie to FT.

We'll be travelling MAN-SIN and on to Australia in a couple of months. This will be our first trip with kids (ooh the anticipation!). Our eldest is four and the youngest nearly two, although we have booked him a seat for this trip rather than having him on lap.

Previously I've been quite lucky at securing exit row seats (I'm a mere KF blue), but had given up all thoughts of extra legroom for this trip as kids are a no-no in exit rows.

However, this is my first trip on 777-200ER and I've just noticed rows 31 and 48 aren't actually exit rows but bulkhead. Would these be fair game for kids, even if they're still the nearest row to the exit?

I presume some of these are bassinet rows... do they have these on the outer seat blocks, or just the centre block?

What is the legroom actually like at these rows? Would there be enough room to let the little one down on the floor by the window so he can have some out of seat time without running amok?

If the gods are smiling and enough seats are available at OLCI, is it safe to assume that we'll get the seats and won't loose them to a bassinet request at the airport?

If I ring up to request such seats will I loose the reasonable-ish seats I've already selected during the online booking process, or will they still be reserved should the bulkhead not happen?

Thanks for your help!

Row 47 on the 772ER is not a bulkhead nor an EE. It won't hurt to call to see if they can request a bulkhead seat for you and should it not be available even when you reach the gate, they will not switch the previous selected seats unless there is an aircraft configuration switch.

I'm in a similar situation, although i will be travelling with a 12 month old and going Melb-Sin-Athens in July. I am not part of frequent flyer program but hoping to get bulkhead seats on this trip. Do the outer seats at row 31 on the 777-200er and 747-400 have windows? Love take off, landing and everything in between. Are there any pics of these seats any where?, having trouble finding some. But if i do will post them. Something that I'll be doing on my trip,.. taking plenty of pics of the seat and surrounding space for fellow travellers.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Zante - looking at seatguru and seatexpert it would seem that there are windows in row 31 on both 777-200ER and 747-400.

Can any regular flyers confirm the legroom at rows 31 and 48 on the 772ER please? Looking at the diagrams it appears that 31DEG and 31HJK may not have that much.

Thanks!

Hi Zooty- thanks for that. Haven't had any luck with pics of these bulkhead seats. Still trying but my knowledge of aircraft sites is limited. Do you know any good sites to look at. Thanks in advance.

www.airreview.com (http://www.airreview.com/Singapore/index.htm) has pictures of not only the 777 seats, but also the 747, and even all the A380 seats.

I've been in 31, and it has a perk - the flip out TV screen - but the bad news is the controller is in the side of the seat, badly reducing the width of the seat, so for that reason I try and avoid it. Legroom seems fine.

Are the bulkheads on any SQ aircrafts reserved for SQ elites only? Do *G have access to them? TIA.

Not reserved but pax with babies have priority since bassinet positions are only in bulkhead seats.

Yes Star Golds have access to these seats albeit there are no bassinet pax's. I have called SQ ahead and made a request for these seats and have always been allocated the seats. But mind you if there are enuf babies then you are out of luck.

On the B744, row 31ABC and row 32HJK are bulk head with windows, row 39 and 49 are emergency exit seats. There is no 31HKJ. I will suggest going for 32HJK, from what I remember, they have more legroom in row 32 than row 31, enough space for the cabin crew to walk infront of each seat in that row.

Row 39 does not have any windows, but row 49 has though. My preferred seat is 49K.

IIRC, row 31 on the 772ER has windows...
