I tried looking up information on the procedures, rules and eligibility of using Asia Miles for BA upgrades on the Asia Miles website and came up with very little information. For example if I have a BA ticket JFK-LHR-ZRH-LHR-JFK where all four flights are booked in business class and would like to upgrade the JFK-LHR and LHR-JFK sectors to F, am I allowed to do so in advance by using my Asia Miles?

Also what booking class (J, C, D, I) must one be booked in to be eligible for this type of upgrade?

FYI, there are now five BA J booking classes: J, C, D, R and I. All these booking classes are eligible for MFUs.

What is an MFU?

So this means on a JFK-LHR-ZRH-LHR-JFK ticket, I can upgrade the JFK-LHR & LHR-JFK sectors to F as long as I have the required amount of miles?

It must be on etix as well

Also you can only upgrade 1 class at 1 time.

Therefor from Y to W and from W to J and J to F. You can't upgrade from Y to J

In your case,I would suggest you to upgrade LHR-ZRH-LHR as well, because the same amout of miles are required and you don't have to pay extra 10 quids for non-Y traveler tax if you don't stay in London more than 24hrs.
