Wyndham Rewards (formerly TripRewards) - TAX by Freenight BRG?

Hello,
I have any questions:

I had a free overnight stay in the Knights Inn, Monterey.
Now it was loaded to me afterwards the TAX. Is this new now?
With Check-out I got no receipt, because it was a Freiübernacht BRG, is this right?

I have last year many freenights, but must no pay any tax.

Yes, the tax is payable. Some hotels don't bother, some do, but it's in the terms and conditions. Also, if a hotel charges for parking, you have to pay that as it's not included in the room rate.

but why don't get a receipt, when I pay for tax?
Some hotels give me an receipt, when is O$ by checkout, but some say its not possible when a freenight.

It's not nice, I agree but experienced that myself a couple of times that I was not given a receipt when I stayd at a BRG case. :rolleyes: I then was told that this is the rule with BRG stays and I did actually not really bother with it anymore. Is there a specific reason why you need a receipt?

I personally think that most of the time when tax is charged, the staff have no idea how to enter it in the computer, so it's difficult for them to issue a receipt.

I've never worried about it as it's a nominal amount. I suppose if you needed it for tax records or something, you could insist they at least handwrite a receipt.

If it's a really big deal, I suppose you could try calling the Triprewards main office.

I should say that I have obtained a receipt for a BRG showing the tax and parking and incidentals charged to my room.
