Budget Travel - Long Beach (CA) to La Jolla (CA)
Hi, guys,
I completely don't know the region. Could you please help me to find out the way to get from Long Beach (CA) to La Jolla (CA). The easiest and quickest way is preferred. I was thinking of something around 50 USD.
Thank you!

well, actually, that was my first thought, but it did not work out. I tried to book a train ticket at the Amtrak web site, but for some reason, it only gives the bus solution for these destinations (Long Beach - Los Angeles, then Los Angeles - San Diego), and then for some reason it does not allow making a reservation, because "according to the law" it requires at list one segment running by train, and there is no train in this booking.

On the AMTRAK website, you'll look for a fare from Long Beach to the San Diego Old Town station. Think it's less than $40.00. From there, you will have to take a bus or taxi to La Jolla...about eight miles away.

Amtrak trains don't go to Long Beach. You can take the Los Angeles metro light rail ($1.25) from Long Beach to Los Angeles Union Station, then Amtrak from Los Angeles to San Diego Old Town (about $29), and then a taxi or bus to La Jolla. You may also want to look into Megabus, which runs between Los Angeles Union Station and downtown San Diego, cheaper and faster than Amtrak but less comfortable and convenient.
