after cx introduced the new seats, it's even more confusing trying to predict which seats u'll get.

Please search numerous threads already on this topic here on the CX forum. There is a new forum made in just the last few days on where the new 77w is going (aka, new seats), you don't even need to search for it the thread is on the very first page.

Unofficially:
New 777s (77W) to JFK and now sometimes to YYZ
747s (77A) to LAX, LHR, YVR (sometimes) and LAX (via YVR)
A330s to OZ

When you go to purchase tix with CX or through an agent they tell you the equipment type. Regardless CX can change equipment at the last minute

I think so. CX888/889 is using 74A frequently tho
