Star Alliance - First time *A Award, SFO-AMS...HELP!

So a friend of mine is getting married in Amsterdam on 10/4, and since tickets from SFO are running about $1050, I figured it'd be a good time to burn some miles (I've got about 135K on US). Ideally, I'd like something in J, but using the ANA tool I can't find a single thing. I can only find several itineraries in Y. I can only find flights on BD and UA as well. If I fly into LHR, I can get F on UA, both directions, then I could get a short flight (~$180 on BD right now). Any tips for this newbie?

I gladly try to help, however, I have two questions:

- Is it April 10 or October 4 that your friend gets married?
- How long do you want to stay?

Just let me know and I will try my best to find something. Might be a good idea to go through different routing options on the ANA tool seperately (like SFO-ORD and ORD-AMS), always worked for me when the 'direct' inquiry (SFO-AMS) did not find available seats.....

October 4th (sorry about that). I want to stay more than a couple days, but not much more than a week. For example, SFO-AMS 10/1 (arrive 10/2), and AMS-SFO 10/6.

Since UA 017 JFK-SFO has F/C/Y and not only F/Y, it needs to be available in Business Class - which unfortunately it is not, otherwise the OP would have to pay the miles for a First Class reward ticket for the whole trip.

Since UA 017 JFK-SFO has F/C/Y and not only F/Y, it needs to be available in Business Class - which unfortunately it is not, otherwise the OP would have to pay the miles for a First Class reward ticket for the whole trip.

How did you find this one? The ANA tool won't display LX41 or LX40. LX's site does display those flights in a dummy booking.

You can check availability on LX if you have a Miles & More account :)

Were you able to get the seats on LX through US Airways?
