I booked 5 days at the Wynn in March through AMEX PTS and FHR. I have stayed at the Wynn before, but with this reservation, I received an email from a Hotel Guest Relations manager asking if there was anything that would make my stay more comfortable to contact her. She offered transportation, shows, hotel services etc.

Would asking for services through this rep rate charges akin to "retail" prices, or some sort of discount figured in. Should I make these additional booking through the Wynn or through PTS?

By the way, I AM NOT A GAMBLER, so I do not have comps coming my way outside of the FHR amenety. Any thoughts on who I should use to seek additional booking during my trip.

Depends on what you're after. I think for dinner reservations, Amex might have more pull, but for show tickets (since it's in town), the hotel itself might be of value. Are you in the Tower Suites or are you just in the regular tower? As elegant as Wynn is, I imagine just the regular hotel concierge having all that much pull, where as if you're in the Tower Suites, you might get a leg up on everyone.

Interesting thoughts. I am in a suite in the Tower Suites. I always forget that there are different concierge's. Thanks for the information.

MGM Skyloft concierge has access to MGM casino services so its the tickets put aside for high rollers. As Skyloft guest, you have to pay standard retail price but have access to prime seats unless they have to go through an agency themselves.

We have been offered front row seats for Tom Jones performing at the MGM (choose seats in the fourth row instead given the front row is part of the "drop zone" when women fling at their underwear at Tom; also part of the "sweat zone" if you have even seen how much he sweats and drips all over)

We have also got great seats for the Cirque du Soliel shows at the various MGM Mirage group.

We have also had success getting good seats at non MGM Mirarge group hotel if you are very specific about what type of seats you are after (prime seating section).

The Wynn Tower concierge may be able to get good seats at the Wynn shows but not sure if they will go as far as the Skylofts ones

Everyone's made good point so far, but keep this in mind:

When a concierge pulls incredible tickets from a reservation block not meant usually for mere mortals, know that you'll pay dearly. Unless you're rated and are worth something more to the casino, there will be no discounts on the things you're being booked for. Depending on how much trouble the concierge goes through getting you what you want, also figure in a tip on top of it.

Erika at SkyLofts has a great team working for her. They rarely say no, but definitely don't have as much pull outside the MGM-system as I'd like. It's just happy coincidence that MGM owns most of the properties on the strip, so finding a great seat usually isn't that tough when they're on the job. I've had equally as good an experience with Wynn's South Tower concierges.

A good concierge is worth their weight in gold... Thankfully, Vegas is full of some incredibly good ones.
