LAN LANPASS - LAN intra-SA award tix - a stellar deal?

Hi All,

I've run a few searches to see what I can get with my "measly" 30,000 kms in the LANPass program.

Turns out one can fly from, say, Bogota to Buenos Aires or Caracas to Bariloche for just that amount...roughly the equivalent of 18,000 miles in a U.S.-based program to fly from one end of a long continent to essentially the other end. Is it just me, or does that strike others as a very good--perhaps stellar--deal in the world of reward redemption?

I agree. I need to get from GIG to LIM this spring (I booked an open jaw). For me to fly on DL or their partners it would have cost 30000 miles+ to get between the cities. I think UA was 25000 miles on TACA (but only from GRU). For LAN, a one stop in SCL (where, if I wanted I could stopover for free), was 25000 kilometers. I only had 5000 km at the time, but pushing in 10000 SPG points was simple and I was set. What a deal.
