Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Hardsell at Travelocity Indian Call Center

I am in the process of getting some quotes for a 5 city trip I need to book next month and wanted to use travelocity's online site, but their site only allows 4 cities. I called the Canadian line and was told you can only book online with the US travelocity. I was transfered and of course got yet another India call center. After explaining the route I wanted the agent started to confirm the times. When I explained I only wanted star alliance partners he told me I'd have to book all one way segments, which obviously is a joke, so I told him just to continue given I'd already spent 10 min on the phone with this guy.

After the 3rd time confirming the times and cities (the first time would have been sufficient) he started me into the booking process. I explained to him I just needed a quote as I had to confirm my appoitments next week so I only needed a quote and not an immediate booking. Then the hard sell began.

No less than 10 times did he tell me if I did not book now the price would not be the same etc. Each time I explained I only needed a quote. Finally I got so sick of him ignoring what I was saying I got really irritated and told him if he can not give me the total quote let me know an I would hang up. In the end he told me it would be somewhere between $1100-1300. .... How can he not know exactly given we went over the exact fligth times 3 times! Needless to say my last trip will be the first and only time I use these chuckleheads. Since when did Indian call centers get into high pressure sales. Sheeesh.

I feel your pain.....I've spent a couple anger filled hours trying to clear up some unexplainable charges on a credit card and all the, obviously Indian, customer "service" representatives I've managed to speak to have been completely stubborn and useless. It's VERY frustrating!

I quit using Travelocity because of this. I'm sorry, but I don't want to talk to someone when we a) can't understand each other and b) they have no concept of where US cities are in relation to each other (in my experience).

Stay away from Travelocity unless you enjoy frustration, anger and masochism. You will be speaking to phone reps in India, who will be as nice as could be and useless at the same time. They booked a room for me and when I called the hotel directly, the hotel had no knowledge of my reservation. If you do book through Travelocity, make sure the hotel has confirmation of your reservation.

Would expedia.com be any better?

I have to change dates on a full J ticket and I can't do it on-line anymore because I've started my trip. Called the help desk, and they transferred me to someone in the US, but has a hard time understanding the word, CHANGE dates, not change tickets!

His computer went down anyway... :(

Maybe if I call the airline directly...?

Its an e-ticket

travelocity drives me mad. few hours before my flight they cancel my ticket without informing me (sent an autogenerated mail). luckily i read the mail and called them, they said ur ticket is on hold as we need to do some check with the card just to rule out card fraud. Asked 4 copy of card n passport. faxed them the same to hear their securit system does not accept it and cancelled the booking. Not only that whilst making a booking, there was error pg 3 times, so i redid the entire procedure of booking 3 times and i get a call from my bank saying the card has been blocked for overlimit use. i called up travelocity india call center from overseas and after 45 min of hold and transfer from one person to other, and piles of verification questions, they say it is the technical error at their end and they r trying to solve it. it shud take 4 - 5 hrs. and the horrible manager just wud not listen. then at 18th hr i had to get the tickets from other agent.
my sincere advise wud be do not book any tickets from travelocity.co.in. they are frauds. cant be trusted
