Has anyone used his DC card in Berlin?
Is it accepted at local stores or should I stick with Visa?
I have read that public transport accepts credit cards. Does this also applies to Diners?
I would like to mention that I don't hold an American card.

Looking at the my last statement from DC I used the card 6 times in Berlin in November including once at a Woolworths and also to pay for admission to the Jewish Museum. Cannot recall any problems but then mine is a US card so its also accepted as a MC.

Don't "stick" with anything. Take both (as well as cash), and see how it is in each store individually.
In the days before my US DC was an MC, I didn't find the info about DC acceptance in various countries very accurate. It depended a lot on the specific establishments (simiarly as it did in the US back then).
But of more concern: I found that in some countries (such as Denmark) there were a number of smaller establishments which couldn't use non-Danish cards of any kind! And in some other countries (such as Switzerland) I ran into some "real" restaurants (not fast food, not stalls/kiosks, not hole in the wall) that were cash only.
