I looked at the other thread and it looked like it was all about people logging on from their smart phones and issues which I do not have. My suggestion though is this: There are some threads that I enjoy partaking in but when I log in on my Treo 755p the thread is 80+ pages and from what I have seen there isn't an option to chose go to page 80 on the thread. Instead I have to hit the next page button 80 times which I do not do cause that would take forever. It would be a nice little option to have the mobile site mirror more closely the regular site and have the little page counter where we can click to go to page 80 or 5 or 77 in a thread. Ok no more rambling for me for a bit.

I agree. There should be a 'go to last page' link available directly on the frontpage.

Almost two months and not a word or a change. Is the idea that stupid? And yes I am mobile and can not go to some of the larger threads.

I believe that (on my BlackBerry) I can change it at the bottom of the thread page to start reading from the reverse (i.e. last post). If you scroll further down the page - you can find it there.

That said, I agree - it'd be useful to have it so you can choose a page number or so there was also more than one post per page. Graphics should be totally removed from the mobile version, IMHO...

Agreed. I rarely use FT on my phone (it's not a smart phone, so I'm just using the Opera Mini browser), but when I have, I've found it strange that there isn't a "go to first unread post" (like is available on the standard HTML version). Don't know if mobile browsers don't like anchors or what, but it seems strange.

I'll have to play around with the wireless version a bit more to see what else should be changed, but this seems like a major and important improvement that should be done ASAP.

OK, so I now have a really smart phone--an iPhone!

However, it's hard to follow FT from it. Otherwise, you couldn't get me off of here! (That's probably a good thing...)

The wireless version (the WAP one) still suffers from the problem I mentioned in the last post (and several others mentioned before me)--namely, that there is no way to go to the first unread post and you must go through several different screens to get to the last page.

The full version displays beautifully (although sometimes it's hard to read the text, because the iPhone doesn't resize/rewrap text columns, so in order to zoom in far enough to read clearly, you have to then continually scroll left and right at each line break), but it a) loads slowly over EDGE (waiting for HSDPA up here) and b) there is no way to force FT to open clicked threads in a new window and preferably in the background (there is no way to do this internally on the iPhone, so you are stuck navigating forward and back, which really slows down my FT "workflow," especially because the iPhone's cache is pretty badly designed and it often reloads pages when navigating forward and back).

Some of it is due to Apple's software design (i.e. the lack of an "open link in new window" option and the bad cache) and some of it could be improved by a better wireless interface on FT, but whatever can be done to improve usage on the iPhone would be very welcome and awesome!
