I just got another reminder about up to 3 additional cards for $175. I was just curious how many of you have this and also according to amex all additional cardmemebers are given the exact same rights. So when booking companion tix they each get 4 and for the fhr program they can book their own rooms. Anyone have experience with this. My main point is we often travel seperate or go as a big group. So my thinking is when my brother or someone goes alone he can get a companion ticket and when we go as a big group and need more than 2 fhr romms he can take two and I can take two. Also if we have 6 with us we can each bring two additional people into the crc.

I haven't seen this perk, and it would be great since we have 3 additional cardholders who each have the gold card. How did you receive this offer?
As far as I know, this is not any targeted offer. It is now an inherent part of the platinum card benefits - up to 3 platinum secondary cardholders for $175 total. After the first three, then you pay $175 for each one after that.
I have three secondary cardmembers who each have the exact same benefits with their cards that I do (but the MR points for any activity on their cards is credited to my account).

We have two additional cards on our account. The same benefits apply to each card, so this is a very good deal. The only issue is that the primary card holder is responsible for the bill, so make sure that secondary card members are responsible.

I do this...I am the primary card holder, for which I pay the standard annual fee. My partner and child each have a card on my account. I pay $175 total for their two cards.
This is not targeted, but the standard offer fee structure.

Just a little clarification because I spoke with amex a few times basically as had been said here the 3 additional cards are 175 total the offer being sent around right now is for anywhere between 2500 MR's to 10000 MR's per additional card you add. I know this may sound like a lie but I actually recieved an offer which I am not sure but think was 5000 per additional card which may have caused me to sign up. I quickly opened the letter and it was one of those "your name here" platinum offers but specifically for additional cards. I had to run so I put down the letter and went out someone else in the house assuming it was one of a dozen your name here offers we get a week threw it out and when I called amex they told me they have no offers attached to my account

My family has one primary and one secondary, and each card does get the exact same benefits. FHR, Domestic Companion, etc etc. As previously stated, bear in mind that the primary cardholder is responsible for the bill, and sometimes it does take some figuring out mathematically to understand who paid what.
As a side note, have any other secondary cardholders noticed that you no longer have access to the MR section of the Amex site? Secondary cardholder used to be able to log-in and could see a cumulative count of all MR points, and could use points accordingly if they wanted to buy something, etc. Now, only the primary cardmember can access the MR points, and error states that secondary cardholder must be authorized by primary? Am I the only one facing this error?

This is not an "error" this is a security feature. If you want the additional cardholder to be able to redeem points...
1. Go to http://membershiprewards.com
2. Login
3. Click Points Summmary
4. Scroll down to CARDMEMBER AUTHORIZATION
5. Click Edit and configure each cardholder's access.

Thanks for the instructions, I'm going to go ahead and do that. When the secondary cardholder was first added, this wasn't necessary. All cardholdlers had access to MR points. At what point did this change?

... and sometimes it does take some figuring out mathematically to understand [which cardmember] paid what.
It's been my experience that payments (at least on the online site) are credited to whichever cardholder made them- you haven't seen this?

This thread is exactly what I was looking for!
Does anyone have first-hand experience with the Domestic Airline Program? I want to verify that each secondary card is eligible for (4) domestic purchases pear year in addition to the primary...
primary cardholder - 4 domestic flights per year
secondary cardholder - 4 domestic flights per year
third cardholder - 4 domestic flights per year
total - 12 domestic flights in 2008
and so on....
Anyone know for sure that this is the case? I assume it is but it's too late in the evening to call API and check...

I am an additional card holder on my daughter's Platinum card. She was just billed for my card at a $45 rate. I used the 241 ticket and saved $220, more than covered my $45 fee. She didn't say anything about the $175 rate.

Do you have a Gold Card as an additional card holder?
