Best Western Rewards - Buenos Aires Best Western?

Anyone stayed at the Best Western Monumental Hotel & Spa in Buenos Aires recently? How is the spa/pool? I tried trip adisor for reviews, but nothing was mentioned about the pool. bestwestern.com says the pool is closed from Dec 15 until March 30, but I find that hard to believe as that is the peak of the summer season in Argentina.

I'm rather late replying, but I'll be there in about 10 days. I'll let everyone know what I thought. I have the "penthouse suite". I think it has a fireplace. I doubt the pool will be open. The fireplace would be more welcome in winter.

I've read them. There doesn't appear to be a consensus. We were happy to find something reasonable that would sleep 3.

Trip report:
The good:
Requested and received early check-in. Arrived exhausted at 10:00 AM and sent directly to the room even though official check-in is 3:00 PM. Offered free breakfast upon arrival.
The room was very nice. Newly remodeled suite 703. Tile floors. Comfortable bed (not so the sofabed). Luxurious bathroom.
The staff was wonderful. In fact, the owner (a NJ guy who lives in FL now) called and asked to meet us after he saw we were from the US. Extremely friendly. He tells me he remodeled 703 for his daughter. He gave us a gift on the way home and then comped us half a day (check-out is 11:00 AM and we had an 8:30 PM departure). We got great advice from several of the desk staff on where to eat and which Tango show to go to. When I asked for directions to the closest Catholic church, they researched, left a map in my room with Mass times and even suggested St Josephs (because it was Fathers Day). The lady running breakfast was sweet and very accomodating (also speaks 6 languages). The housekeeper was sweet too although we did not speak one another's language.
The location was fine. Walk to the Subte = 2 blocks. Decent Italian restaurant one block away. The attached restaurant is fine for continental breakfast or lunch (they don't eat much for breakfast in BsAs, but if you need eggs or real OJ, order it and pay - it's not expensive). I felt safe everywhere and at all times.
The not so good:
The furniture (desk/tv case/nightstands) was cheap & flimsy & the fireplace is 2 electric woodstoves - but cosy all the same. The balcony and window views are nothing to write home about - but that's the neighborhood. they need new towels. I did not look for a pool. There was a sign for the spa but I did not look for that either.
I would stay there again and would recommend it to friends as well.

Not the peak summer season since it is WINTER in Argentina, might be a bit chilly for a swim.

I thought I'd add a postscript to say I had some issues with my points posting from the BW Monumental. Initially, the stay posted as 6 nights, but with points for only 1 night. I emailed customer service and they requested a copy of the folio which I did not have. However, 2 days later the points for the remaining 6 nights did post. I am now batting .1000 when it comes to problems with points posting for international BW stays - it has been a problem every single time.

So did you get credited for 7 nights total in the end (toward elite)?
My experience is that the upside of posting problems is that every correction post counts as an additional night. Which means that you get to elite pretty fast if you have posting problems! :)
Now if only elite meant anything at BW... :(

Better. I got 6 night for the first attempt and another 5 for the correction. 4 more nights and I'm Platinum Elite and my bonus goes from 10% to 15%! Woohoo.
