How did they come up with this story if USAirways response is true? Seems to me even the airline's response is lacking in details.

This seems to be a pretty fishy story all around. If the passenger was not mentally competent to understand what her circumstances were, why was she flying unattended? How many times have we advised folks not to count on the airlines to look after their elderly or confused relatives? The wheelchair doesn't really seem to be the important part of the story.
