First of all, that's ridiculous, and really goes against the FT spirit. Second, I'm 95% sure the offer is targeted, and only people who received the mailer will be able to get in on the deal.

In my case, its a pre-approved offer. I just have to sign a card and mail it back or call them and accept the offer.

I got this targeted offer after I called several months ago requesting the Plat card with a 25K MR bonus. Maybe that move in itself caused me to be targeted? With the MR points worth a penny to me, I got lounge access for about $145 for the Skyteam lounges and AA.

I just upgraded to plat last week, I wonder if I can call to get the 25k MRs. I had an offer of a $200 statement credit for upgrading, so that may keep me from getting this one.

Business. I had gotten an e-mail a while back, and finally applied last week. Card hasn't even arrived yet, which is too bad with a trip starting tomorrow. I was hoping for the club access.

For anyone wondering, there was no code or anything. The url just linked me to my Amex account where I had a banner to upgrade from gold to plat.
