Folks,
I reached Platinum Status a couple of weeks ago. I just have 7 stays left to reach Diamond Status and now I'm wondering how long I have time to sleep the nights.
Is it a Jan-Dec roll or do you have your own roll, that means you reach status in july and your membership year is from july to july.
Who can help with this mysterium?

As far as I know, Hiltion HHonors is the only hotel program with a rolling status qualification system. All other hotel programs use Jan-Dec, period.
As there don't seem to be necessarily 7 days left in the calendar year (as I answer this a day after you posted it), given that the credited date for a stay at BW is at least the checkout day and in my experience sometimes even a day or two later, and since I don't think you can earn multiple stay credits on the same night at different hotels, I don't think you have time left to achieve Diamond.
Having said that, why do you want to? If you review the other threads in this section, you'll notice the people who have reached Diamond in the past report seeing little else for it except some more points. But is it really worth it spending for hotel runs just to get a few more points later? It's not like the extra points you get from that are that valuable, is it??

Thanks for your reply.
I'm not planing a sleeping run. I was just wondering. Because my dad got his diamond card this year and the women at the help desk said they have a rolling status. But I don't believe that because the card says valid until 0901, which means january 2009.
I think the best western program is really bad because I never got any upgraded nights or whatever! The only thing is that the BW hotels are much cheaper than Hilton etc.! Because of that I stick to BW but I would never do a run to get the diamond status.... What for?

My card says "valid thru 01/31/08". Whether that means my member year rolls from Feb. 1 to Jan. 31, or there's a grace period of a month, or a month for adjustments, catch-up posting, whatever, I don't know.
I found a small glitch in the way they process their "nights" total for stays occurring around the end of the year.
I stayed at a Best Western during the last four nights of 2007, but all four nights were posted during 2008, even though there haven't even been four nights in 2008 yet.
Although getting a few extra nights counting in 2008 might be advantageous, they were the number I needed to get to Diamond status in 2007, so I've contacted them to see about getting my status adjusted manually to reflect that stay actually in 2007. (Of course, while I was on the phone, I had to report another stay that was completely missing from mid-December.)
