Travel Technology - tamper detector/pager for luggage/laptop

Hi. I recently discovered a great product called "ISpy PC Radar". The basic idea is that you have a wireless motion/vibration sensor which you attach to your belongings (laptop, luggage, etc) and a key fob receiver that you carry on your person. If anyone tilts, touches, picks up, tampers, or accidentally knocks-over/tramples your belongings then the sensor pages the key fob, allowing you to respond before theft/damage can occur. Extra touches include the ability to wirelessly sound an alarm in the motion sensor after being paged, and automatic proximity detection between the receiver/transmitter so the motion sensor isn't triggered when you are touching/tamper with your own stuff.

It sounds like a great product to free me from always having to either keep my belongings in hand or lock them. With this device it seems I could just leave my stuff in any old place and, as long as I'm within about 100 feet or so, have as much security as if I was standing right in front of them.

Needless to say, I would really like to get my hands on this product or a similar/equivalent product. Unfortunately the "ISpy" from Lexent was discontinued a number of years ago and old stock is nowhere to be found (see thread here: http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=295673 ).

There are obviously similar products available for cars/motorcycles, but they usually require a bulky batteries and would be too big for luggage/laptops. There are also electronic leashes/proximity detectors for children, but since these only detect the distance between the receiver/transmitter they aren't very good for tracking a fixed object (like luggage/laptop) while the owner roams around and, besides, once a thief has concealed your goods and is 10-20 feet away it's unlikely that you'll be able to catch him. Finally, there are motion sensing alarms like the Targus Defcon1, but alarms are rude and ineffective. I will not presume that anyone is going to protect my belongings but me, Therefore, anything but a discrete notification of me and only me is unacceptable.

That being said, does anyone know where I can get a Lexent ISpy or an equivalent product?

This thread may help, the president of the company was a poster to it. It's quite old, but may offer alternatives

If it's distance from you alarms they are all over the place, if you can't find them specially for laptops, they are certainly available for babies, same stuff, different case.

The rest I don't know about, but proxmity is a start.

Yeah, I posted in that thread and was told by a mod to make a new thread here.

In any case, I've spent a lot of time searching through the available proximity products, but there doesn't seem to be anything that combines both proximity and motion sensing that doesn't require a car or motorcycle battery.
