Is there anyone who can confirm me if Korean Air Lounge reconstruction at LAX is finished, and if not, do they grant entrance to temporary contracted lounge (?) to ST Elite Plus members flying Economy?

(KE site states, they operate two lounges, one for Prestige & one for First Class passengers, a bit confusing...)

Kind of OT, but does having a NW World Clubs membership (or other Skyteam club membership) get you into a KE club, or do you always have to have a Prestige or FC boarding pass?

Any Sky Team Elite PLUS card would be enough to enter if the Lounge is operated/owned by Sky Team Airline, even with Y boarding pass on ST operated/code shared flight.
(Though First Class ST Lounges can restrict entrance)

My question was if anyone knows wheather KE Lounge(s?) at LAX are already refurbished?

IIRC, carriers flying out of TBIT no longer have their own lounges. There are now four mega lounges at TBIT - one each operated by ST, *A, OW, and a lounge for most non-affiliated carriers. Each of the alliance lounges have separate F and business sections.

I'm pretty sure your STE+ status will grant you access to the ST business lounge.

I flew KE 18 from LAX to ICN on 22 December. The KE (Skyteam) mega lounge was not in operation. I was a business class passenger and also Elite Plus. The KE lounge passengers were directed to the old temp 1st class lounge before security in the area above the check in counters in the food court area. Access was via a card given you when you check in. There was a great view of the runways, but overall the lounge was not impressive. 3 computer stations, small selection of snacks and beverages and a smaller area dedicated for the 1st class passengers. I prefer loungers that are airside. I had to leave about 1 hour before boarding due to the long line at the TSA security.

Finally, one small gripe. The line to check in was non existant for business and 1st class. But the business class then had to take the checked baggage to another area and wait in a long line with many economy passengers to have the bags scanned and eventually boarded. In the past business class passengers had ground staff take the bag from the check in counter to the TSA scan.

ThanX B-Escobar!

I am flying from NY, hand luggage only, meaning I have to ask for a card at LAX Check In??!!

I hope they'll reopen new lounge till January 25...
