Don't know if this is the right place to post?

I applied for the UK plat card last friday! Havent had anyword yet about my application but i have a few questions i need some answers to ASAP :D

Meant to be traveling back from JFK to LHR on the 7th of Jan. However strikes have just been announced on that day - am i covered by the amex insurance? Does it kick in as soon as the application is accepted?
I might have a contingency plan of booking a flexible ticket for the day before - if my flight were eventually be canceled and i had to take this flight - would amex pay for this?

Thanks for your help in advance!

don't actually know the answer to your specific question, but Amex Plt UK does have a dedicated insurance line...call them to find out.

Also: they will _not_ cover you for expenses unless you call them first (as per most insurance companies).

best of luck,

I believe the particular coverage that would cover you in that situation requires that you pay for the airline ticket with the AmEx Platinum. But I'm not 100% certain, so be sure to call AmEx to ask.

I don't know the answer to your insurance question, but I think it incredibly unlikely that you will have an answer in January, let alone by the 7th. It took my online application 2 months to get processed.

3 months later and I still haven't had any of the hotel or car benefits come through.

Have a great trip!

You're NOT covered until you have received AND ACTIVATED your card.
