On Apr 17, looking to fly KE J East Coast-ICN. Between YYZ & JFK, which is the better gateway? Which airport has the better lounge that KE uses? Which airport is more hassle free to get around. Is there a difference in service and meal patterns between the two routes in J. I have an 8:30 am flight leaving ICN with another carrier that I have booked with for travel on Apr. 19; therefore, I have to take an overnight flight on the 17th to ICN and I do not want to overnight in ICN to make the connection. Both the overnight YYZ-ICN & JFK-ICN is showing a 747-400. I will be flying from CVG to either YYZ or JFK to make the connection as I do not want to endure a 4+ hour domestic flight to connect to one of KE's west coast gateway.

Well, if everything is same as now, JFK will be much better choice. KE uses upgraded fleets on JFK route, while using old crappy 747 on YYZ sector. And since KE does not have a plan to upgrade remaining 747s, YYZ will be one of the last long haul destinations with old F/C and no AVOD fleet.

Also KE's JFK lounge is said to be awesome. (no information about YYZ lounge, though.)

I second you on this

I live in YYZ and I have flown KE on both YYZ and JFK (after KE's rennovation), definately go with ICN-JFK v.v, it's so much better for everything from lounge to airplane itself. (for both Y and C)
