Southwest Rapid Rewards - Connecting flights: now just one credit?
Let me preface this by saying I am relatively new to flyertalk, and not very good at searching. I searched high and low for an answer to the question I am about to ask (for an hour):
I recently flew on WN from TUL to SFO (last week) on a BS fare. I connected (got off the plane, got on another, as opposed to just landing and taking off again) in PHX. I received two credits (remember, this was a BS fare).
Three months ago I flew TUL to SFO. I connected (see above definition) through LAS. I received two credits.
I looked at the rules. It seems that they've changed things so that you no longer earn 2 credits for connecting?!

I'm not an expert on this, escpecially at midnight when I should be reading A Tale of Two Cities to fall asleep to, but, in my readings of the WN board in the past few years I can write that there is no distinction between connecting and nonstop flights. The two credits for BS fares are for one normal and one bonus credit. Possibly when you flew three months ago WN was running a promotion for 2X credits in SFO because it was a new station.
As a shareholder in WN I wish to thank your modus vivendi of buying BS fares. BS fares are a bona fide object to increase the ease and profability of the WN modus operendi (reviewing latin terms, please ignore).
Maybe they were running a promotion, but I'm not so sure.
What I found interesting when looking at my account was that my September flights for the single TUL-SFO trip were listed separately, while my flights last week were not and were actually just listed under the first flight from TUL to PHX (343 does not go TUL-SFO).
December:
TUL SFO 0343
September:
TUL LAS 1724
LAS SFO 1709

The distance between TUL and SFO is >700 miles. Since you flew BS, you were eligible for a bonus credit, and since your entire trip was >700 miles, you get one bonus credit instead of 0.25. That would explain the second situation, TUL-PHX-LAX(?)-SFO.
The first situation could be a bonus credit, I am unfamiliar with the promotions WN ran out of SFO. Perhaps someone in the Bay Area could enlighten us. I find it strange that it listed both TUL-LAS and LAS-SFO. Even with bonus credits, it should say TUL-SFO.
I, too, as a WN shareholder thank you for buying the BS fare. :D

....modus vivendi .... modus operendi (reviewing latin terms, please ignore).
"Dum nemo me praedicere potest, liber appellatus sim."
May be a typo; it's been 30 years.

Wow, didn't know ancient Romans were on FT?
I have no idea what the de facto meaning of your comments are in English, I assume the de jure comments are something about planes?

Approximately "As long as no one can predict my actions, I may be considered a free man."
Stuck in my head since college.
The guy who runs Amtrak Guest Rewards could have this as his personal motto.

I think you got lucky the first time. I have had those happen, but it has been a glitch in the system. The only way to get double credits is to book the 2 legs as 2 seperate flights IME.

Unless they were booked as separate tix, you will not get double credits (AFAIK).
