Starwood Preferred Guest - Asking SPG for promos

It appears you can only register for one promo at a time. I would have loved the gold opportunity mentioned in earlier email. I will barely miss Gold this year. Will I have any luck calling in and politely asking to see what I can do to earn better status/more points. I have stayed with SPG quite a bit lately and they will see upcoming reservations.

Welcome to FlyerTalk. Do you have status with another hotel chain? If so, they will usually grant a status match. It only takes 10 stays during the year. You could do some mattress runs (you don't mention how far away you are from the 10 stays) between now and December 31st.

It would be against company policy for any telephone associate to offer you any promotion for which you were not originally targeted. And, you can only participate in one quarterly promotion if you were.

However, some of your peers here at Flyertalk may be able to help with ideas to earn better status/more points that do not involve promotional offers.
