Does UA or US Air have a lounge (which services Star Alliance Gold passengers such as myself), when flying from San Antonio on an UA flight?
How would you characterize the lounge?

I believe it is quite justified to post separate threads on separate topics, even if they all deal with one given trip. Others may choose to selectively read the threads, as per their own circumstances. Putting all 5 (and who knows, I may think of additional issues) issues in one thread, dealing with one trip, would make it too unwieldy, for responses to all questions to be effectively made.

Well, let's just say that it's not exactly a top-tier airport.... I consider being in the "new" terminal as close to a lounge benefit as anyone can expect.

Never saw a lounge in SAT, nor thought one was needed. Nice enough airport. Let's move this to the South(ern) US Travel Forum.

There is a lounge in SAT, its the Continental Presidents Club. This lounge is located in Terminal 2 and would require you not only to switch terminals but also pay $45 for a day pass unless you are a member or have an American Express Platinum card.

There is also a Mexicana lounge in Terminal 1, and it does allow for Priority Pass access. It does not allow for access based on UA or *A status.

If you have the Amex Platinum, you need to be flying Continental that day. You wont get in if you are flying UA even if you have the card.
