Korean Air Skypass - Booking Class/Fare Basis Shown on Orbitz?

I was looking on Orbitz for Skyteam flights (concentrating on KE, provided the schedules work) from my home airport to cities in Asia in March to see what kinds of fares are out there. I'm in KE Skypass, and know that mileages credited for certain fare classes are lower, or in some cases nil. So, it's important to know before booking what fare you're purchasing.

I couldn't find any reference to letter-based booking/fare basis codes on Orbitz. Does this information show anywhere?

The booking sites aren't very transparent on fare classes until you've made it all the way into the booking and then you can get the fare rules if you really look for it. Orbitz doesn't seem to be any better or worse than the others in this regard. This is actually a major gripe I have with the big booking sites. They're set up for Ma and Pa Kettle travelers who just want the cheapest available ticket, not travelers like the majority of us on here that find fare class important in our decision process.

You can use the ITA website to set up the trip, it gives you fare information pretty easily without all the nonsense Orbitz puts you though to get to it. Once you have found something acceptable on ITA then you can go into orbitz or your favorite booking engine to buy it.

I know that I can get FF miles for any codeshare I book from DL's site, but want to book from KE to get the best schedule. I need to make sure I can get a ticket on which I can earn miles. Is there any way to tell fare class on the KE site, or is it best to phone up to buy and make sure the agent quotes the appropriate class?

You would need to make sure that you do not book in Q class as you would not get any DL miles. I find that S class is usually a little more and you will get 150% MQM with DL. You can not choose a specific class on ke.com so you would need to call or use a TA.

If you have access to something like expertflyer, then you can just compare the price to the fare schedule on expertflyer and you'll know what you're dealing with.
