Which do you use?
How much did you spend?
/sarcasm-I'm looking at one of those ripu-a-new1 brands from hi-price buy city, that's only slightly less than what I paid for my TV /off

It depends....if you have a video projector in the system, it's important to have a UPS to protect the bulb from sudden power outages, same for a media computer. Otherwise, I highly recommend Surgex (http://www.surgex.com/) brand series mode surge protectors, primarily because they don't use MOV's. They are a bit spendy ($300+), but if your home theater is worth several thousand, a worthwhile investment. If you want to stick with MOV protection, Panamax (http://www.panamax.com/) makes a good product. Generally, as a rule of thumb I spend anywhere from 10-25% of the value of the protected equipment on surge protection. You may want to consider getting a whole house surge protector as well for an added level of defense.

Powerware 5115, 5120, or 5125 if you don't need double conversion and 9120/9125 if you do in a UPS. Don't even bother with a high priced surge suppression system. You might as well buy the line-interactive UPS at that point.
If you don't mind a fan always on (or know enough to swap it with a quieter fan), I highly recommend the Powerware 9120.
