quick question. probably "no". But... i'm an am ex platinum member. flying on virgin america later this month out of lax. i think terminal 6. i've read the threads on am ex platinum but... still not clear. that makes me dumb. question: with the am ex plat can i get access to the co lounge in that terminal? if no... can i join priority pass or something before that to help????

thanks for indulging me. everyone here knows EVERYTHING so i thought i'd give it a shot.

With your Amex Plat, you can only getting into a carrier's lounge when flying them. Since you're not flying CO/NW/DL/AA, you won't be able to get into a lounge - unless you buy a refundable ticket on one of those carriers.

Another idea is to get the Citi Platinum Amex that comes with free Priority Pass that allows 3 visits a year and then charges $27 per visit after that. With Priority Pass, there is no carrier requirement.

Not with a US Amex Plat. Comes with some European versions, I believe.

You can also just buy a day pass for $45 at the CO PC.

Priority Pass is part of the German Amex Plat programm (you even get two passes - one for yourself and one for your partner)

i looked it up at priority pass. its like 30 bucks for basic member and 27 (US $) each time you enter lounge. or $245 and you get 10 free entries. is it really worth it if it ain't free?

Depending on whom you fly, possibly. I fly mostly DL, so it's not necessary for me. However, I do have priority pass (actually 2 of them) with unlimited free visits -- I use it internationally and if I want to go into another lounge (ie: NWA @ LGA rather than CRC when flying Delta). Try the fee free Citi Amex Plat. for a year and see how much you use the priority pass; if you never use it, cancel the card; however, if you use it either stick with the card or upgrade to full membership.

As does US Centurion

Why? Just for the self-service booze? I understand having the PP for international, but not in the instance above. I actually think the CRC is nicer - definitely more space.
