Travel Technology - Failing sound card??

I have a Dell PC that is a few years old.

One day I have no sound, the next some and then full blast.

Removed all connections from speakers and replaced .. Same thing happens.

Check for conflicts in hardware..None.

Is this a sound card going out?

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere. You may want to shut your pc off, disconnect power, open it and remove sound card then re-install the sound card.

While you've got the card out, gently burnish the contact fingers with a brand new eraser - and don't touch the contacts or the eraser where it touches them. The objective is to not get skin oils from your fingertips on the contacts.
