Two Smobil (http://www.smobil.de) customers can talk to one another (in Germany) for .01€ per minute.* Their usual deal is a SIM with 10€ airtime for 14.99€. They often mark it down to 9.99€ - pretty good.

But this deal blows that one away. Until mid-January, they'll sell you TWO (zwei, deux, dos, dva) SIMs with TWENTY Euros airtime for the same 14.99€.

They're sold through Schlecker (http://www.schlecker.de) stores, a sort of micro-Wal-Mart that's on every other corner all over Germany.

* Their inter-network rates, including international, mostly suck. But if all you want is a phone to keep a party in touch, that eurocent per minute is a great deal.

I looked at the website , but how long are the sims good for and the one euro cent a minute ?

Could I buy 2 now and use them next summer at the one euro cent rate ?

The phone numbers are non-expiring, and the 1 cent rate has been running for years.

Does the "1 Set" mean 2 SIM cards or only one?

Never mind, I found the "2 kaufen - 1 Bezahlen Startpaket". Great deal for my travels there in two weeks.

I got the SIMs from Schlecker home shopping as per the original offer. Did anyone who is not living in Germany manage to "register" these numbers with SMobile to active them.

I had a pretty terrible time last week, talking to Smobile on my normal GSM phone, with my equally terrible German, and gave up eventually.

What's the best way to register/active the smobile SIMs?

Thanks,

Aidan
