Travel Technology - dell laptop auto/air not working
I have a kensington 70W auto/air adapter, for my dell D620. It doesn't power my laptop with in-flight attachments! I know it works because it can power smaller devices!
Can I get a dell adapter ANYWHERE in DFW!??!!
Any advice for a power adapter for a dell and I use a lenovo also!??!?!?!
Thanks!

Most Dells are sold with 65W AC adapters, but you can upgrade to a 90W adapter. Same with Lenovo. Did you upgrade to the more powerful AC adapters? That would explain it (as would the fact that 65W is pretty close to the max output of your Kensington unit, especially if it's not performing up to spec).

I've got a D620, and my Targus auto/air adapter (I think it's an APD10US - but it may be the prior-model equivalent) will *power* but not *charge*. It works fine, and I've used it for LONG trips both in car and on the airplane (ie all the way from LAX-NRT.)
No idea about the power tip support for Lenovo but I'd be surprised ig they didn't have some. See http://www.targus.com/us/powerstore.asp

The igo adaptors apparently will power and charge the Dells now. They wouldn't do both when they first came out, but they figured it out. You should be able to find one. I think it comes with the tip you need, but check the igo web site to make sure. (Apparently you need the everywhere 130 model if you have discreet graphics, but if you have onboard graphics you can get the smaller/lighter everywhere 85, and yes, the tip for the D620 is included.)
Radio Shack sells them. They are everywhere.
According to the DFW web site, there's a Cellular and Computer Accessories Store near gate A17 that says that have "AC anywhere adaptor", I have no idea which ones they have there.

I'm running my D620 as we speak off an iGo. RadioShack's been clearing out some of the older ones lately (see ScottC's thread), and those don't always have the new Dell tip - it's tip S35 - you might even be able to call and get it for free if you get one that's missing the tip.
