Northwest Airlines Corp. is considering what to do (http://www.startribune.com/535/story/1591377.html) with its cargo business after it loses its largest customer, DHL Express, next year.
Historically, hasn't the freight business been more profitable than the passenger business?
Other interesting tidbits:
[CFO Dave] Davis also said Eagan-based Northwest is looking at the possibility of selling its frequent flier program. "Our hypothesis is that there is possibly substantial value there," he said.
and
Davis said Northwest is "very actively looking at" who the right partner would be if mergers were to happen.
Not News. NW has been actively look at that on a continuous basis. I know there have been some threads about selling the FFP--do his comments signal a change in thinking in Eagan?
