Finnair Plus - New shiny plastic for everyone

Finnair says they are bringing out new desing for Finnair Plus. They are going to send redesigned membership cards for everyone until the end of February. I haven't seen the new image yet and thought that old is a bit oldish, so maybe this is a nice fresh thing. But is this the beginning of some bigger campaigne?

Maybe that is the reason why I can't apply for a replacement card online? Actually I did apply around July, and thought the IT problems had made the request disappear. When I now try to reapply, I get a message "Card order failed. Please, contact the Finnair Plus Service Center, telefone +358 9 818 888.". I hardly ever use the AY card so didn't bother to follow up.

Goodie! Yet another card. I received one right after my previous qualification period ended. A month later I got another one with a letter explaining that the previous one was faulty. Then a couple of weeks later I got exactly identical shipment with the same letter. For some reason I got yet another card a couple of weeks ago, with a letter saying "Here's your new Finnair Plus card", although I hadn't ordered a new card.

So if I will get a new card next year, that will be my fifth card during this qualification period!

For you AY Plus FTers living in Finland. Have you noticed they have a promo for Finnair MasterCard (http://www.nordearahoitus.fi/liite/s/finnair/MC/index.html)- you get one year free and 5000 points to your account. Offer is valid until 15DEC.

I took the promo because I'm short that 5000 points on my AY account - after that I can just forget AY Plus, close the CC and use the AAdvantage program for OW.

I went online this morning to check my Plus account and after logging on a new card image has replaced the old card in the right hand corner where you log-in. I don't know if it shows a different image per status level, but what I see is very simplistic swishy thing in sort of blueish color. As long as it gets me into OW lounges without a hassle I don't really mind what it looks like.

I'd have preferred the old card which did not have the credit card type of elevated texture as there's no need for that in a FF card...AY is clearly doing too well as they have the money to update the visual look of AY Plus and changing all the outfits for the crew...why not bringing back some the services they have been cutting back...????

Yup. Arrived early this week. However, my better half has not received hers yet.
