I am a new poster, so please bear with me !

Has anyone had recent experience with Martinair's seasonal flights from Canada to AMS ?
Some years ago I flew them a couple of times MIA-AMS and YYC-AMS, and was very happy with the experience; however since reading thru these threads I'm getting increasingly concerned about their flight delays or even cancellations.
Their summer 2008 airfare from YVR to AMS is very attractive and tempting, running currently about half that of NWA which will start non-stop service from my departure city PDX to AMS, or other major airlines with a lay-over and that's a lot of $-savings for a family of 5.
As an extra luxury I discovered that the departure times are very convenient compared with what I'm used to and I really don't mind the economy seat pitch.
Do their flights fill up (fast) and will I receive an eticket ?
Any comment is appreciated ..... thanks !

Have you checked airlinequality.com ? I've thought of taking them, but have always ended up with a different deal. Anyway, the reviews sound at least comparable, and likely better than, Air Transat. You will be crammed in unless you get Comfort Class - that's a given.

How are you planning to buy the tickets? I know I have seen them advertised on Orbitz . If you proceed through the screens, are you told whether you will get an e-ticket or a paper ticket? So far as I can tell, you can't buy the ticket from the Martinair web site, but you can phone their number.

Many folks here flew AMS-YVR on KLM during the OTP deal. It is a long flight in KL economy; it will only be more cramped on MP with kids sans IFE. FWIW, both times I was in YVR this summer, the MP flight was delayed.

Thanks for your replies so far !
Let me explain a bit: we make this particular long-haul-trans-atlantic trip from the west coast up to (sometimes) a dozen times a year, not for business, mind you and therefore often with the craziest connections ! I'm just watching in horror next summer's rates and that's the sole reason I'm opting for the cheapest fare around to basically get from A to B. Don't care about seat-pitch, FF miles (managing 6 different FF-programs for every individual family member is almost a full-time job and what does it get you these days !) or any other perks; I'll even take a delay, just not 48 hours or more (flyglobespan comes to mind). And yes, did check Airlinequality.com and yes can book thru Orbitz, Cheaptickets or Canadian travelagency. However, don't know yet about eticket; aren't paper tickets obsolete by now ?
YVR Cockroach (and others !) ... where are you ?
