Thanks bcphitau Dec 9, 07, 2:34 am I rented from them in April and everything on the lot seemed somewhat dirty and well-worn. It's a shared facility with National and I did talk them into bringing something else out from the garage when I didn't like the one (1) Beetle in the covertible "aisle" (couple of parking spaces). What they brought me as another option was a National Beetle, same color as the one I could originally "choose from". We picked the undented one. It ended up being a decent rent other than being dingy and scratched. That having been said, they did seem to have "fun" inventory like Beetles, PT Cruisers, and Liberties, if that's what you're into or looking for. hotlguy Dec 9, 07, 5:54 am First of all thank you :) bcphitau for your reply. Oh dear that does not sound too well. I used to rent with Alamo up to 4 years ago. I have to say they never disappointed me. Used to get Mustangs and Mitsubishi Eclipse Spiders from them. They have the best rate for me at this time for a full size car for 11 days including all insurance ( I need this as I am from Europe ) and miles I am paying USD 359. Avis wanted USD 142 more..... Anyway I guess I have to wing it. hotlguy Jan 9, 08, 12:59 pm Just to follow up after my rental I n tell the following: I did not proceed to the rental desk right away but first had a look on the lot to see which cars were on display. In the premium section I saw VW new Beetle, Crysler 300 touring, PT Cruiser and Sebring convertible. Funnily enough I had my sights on a Crysler 300 but the hemi version as touring has to small an engine size. When I went to rental desk I asked if they had the 300c hemi and the answer was positive. So I said to agent if they were hiding the good stuff. She did not answer me but I think that is what they do. Anyway paid 150 bucks to upgrade for a week. This car certainly is a niiiice ride. I loved driving it. Ok it guzzles gas but still smooth and powerful with a nice Boston acoustics sound system. Oh by the way I was very happy with my Alamo experience. Agent ok, shuttle driver excellent. I used to rent fairly a lot with Alamo but use Avis now but it reconfirmed why I was happy with Alamo in the past. |
