I am in the very early stages of planning my 'first big holiday in 5 years' with Mr flyingbee, and seriously considering Malaysia and Singapore after a recommendation from a friend (we live in France). So at this early stage I am trying to make a rough idea of where to go for how many days and what hotels to stay in (for budget planning and to start day dreaming). I would really appreciate a some advice on how many days to spend where and what to do, and great hotels to stay in. We will fly between places, we don't do coach travel!
The rough plan is 10 days total spread between Singapore, KL and somewhere else in Malaysia, maybe Langkawi or Pengang. We are interested in seeing cities, architecture, gardens, zoos, taking really nice walks, seeing spectacular scenary and I can't go anywhere without just a little bit of shopping, just to see if there's anything interesting. And I like to see a nice beach, but don't want a beach holiday. Since we are at the early planning stages, we could manage a few extra days over the planned 10 days.
Since 4/5 star hotels are fairly cheap in Malaysia I would like to take advantage of staying in nicer hotels than usual. Budget would be around 200USD / 300 SGD / 700 MYR per night.
Thinking about going May or June - is this bad for weather / holidays .....?
