I am trying to figure out if my diamond benefits are going to apply for a reward issued in my mom's name.
Any ideas, or even better - policy in writing ;)

Any ideas, or even better - policy in writing ;) Sometimes if you book the award for yourself, and add your mother on as an additional person on the reservation, they may give her some benefits. Just in her name, probably not. Bondiboy Nov 23, 07, 5:30 pm I am trying to figure out if my diamond benefits are going to apply for a reward issued in my mom's name. Any ideas, or even better - policy in writing ;) Any written policy would hinder you rather than help. You did not mention the name of the hotel, but if it is an international property which requires the production/copying of her passport, you would be wise to keep your/her expectations low. As previously mentioned, VIP benefits are meant for the member and not for his/her friends, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, spouses or domestic partners. BUT stuff does happen; especially if your name is also on the reservation. cjd Nov 24, 07, 5:17 am As already stated, your mum is not entitled to your diamond benefits, but in my limited experience of giving Awards to family members, they have always received them and are hardly going to refuse them when offered. I suspect it depends on the individual hotel or possibly even who's on the check-in desk on the day. When giving Awards to family members, if I remember correctly, the Award certificate does have the diamond members account number on it and this may have some influence on whether benefits are received.
