Hilton HHonors - Using HHonors Points For Family Members

As the cHHat facility wasn't working yesterday I e-mailed HHonorscHHatmessage the following:

I would be grateful if you could please advise whether it is possible for me to make a reservation, using my HHonors points, for my adult daughter (same surname as myself)?

In reply I was advised - All you have to do is make the reservation if it is available in your daughters name and the certificate would also have to be in her name so she doesn't have any problems.

So far, so good.

However, when I attempt to make an on-line reservation (Conrad, Dublin) in her name I can't see where the facility exists for me to input her name instead of my own.

Any comments/advice please - and Happy Thanksgiving to all the US FT members on this Forum.

I just put it in the notes section, and say my wife is checking in first when I make a reservation for her. Not sure if that will work overseas though.

You need to call. It's the only way to get the ecert issued in your daughter's name.

If you really can't call, then likely it will work to make the booking for yourself and add her name in the comment field as the one checking in. You then get the ecert, and forward it to her.

If you develop a rapport with one of the diamond reps, ask for their email address for future use. I have the email address of one of the long time diamond reps. I send her email, and she is very responsive.

Last time I made an award reservation for one of my kids, I asked if there was any way to do it online. Lady at the DD said no. That was a year ago. Could have changed, but wasn't inconvenient so I would call next time.

I have made reservations several times for family members but always have to call HHonors to get the Award certificate in their name. The reservation also has to be in their name.

U may reserve for anyone, but as per SanDiego1K #3, I just found out that when reserving for a friend/ relative, the online system will not allow U to input another name.

Make reservation by phone. I do it all the time for my kids.
