Hello Everyone :-)

I've just got back from my trip to LAS in PE, and I was very impressed with the seats, very comfortable... Service was great too... Although I wouldn't recommend Seats 15 A&B (i think) last row, first two seats on the left, facing forward as they can't recline as much as the others due to the bulkhead...

Service started, great, I was surprised that PE board last, although I was told that you can board anytime after business just they board economy first to avoid congestion in the cabin.

After Economy have boarded you get water and juice, and your main meal order is taken - soon after takeoff you get a drinks service followed by top-ups while your meal is prepared.

Meal was okay.... served with metal utensils, glassware and china cups, although the food was naff... (better in First Choice PE IMHO) the service was very attentive and the CSM delighted in getting me a Irish Coffee after my dinner, which was made to perfection.

The crew are very attentive throughout the whole flight in PE, I did hear that the economy cabin sold out of virtually all drinks on the way out. Before arrival they play some really tacky "welcome to las vegas" video, which was very very cheap..... On arrival Immigration at LAS was a nightmare as there was an Air Mexico flight in before us.... "welcome to America".. lol..

The return flight was good, I asked to say go upto the flight deck before takeoff so did and said hello to the Captain and First officer('s) on board before taking my seat for take-off...

Again the return service was fantastic, although the meal wasn't that impressive (Roast Chicken) mine was extremely dry, although upon a wander to the back galley and mentioning it to the crew they immediately offered me another one, or pasta - I personally think that the Pasta was much better... i asked about drinks at the back, and they had sold out of virtually everything on the way out, and they don't get restocked again so In Economy they were having to sell PE drinks - apparently they have reduced the bars on this route which the crew thought was crazy..

Oh I forgot to say that the HagenDaz ice cream is lovely, Vanilla is the best!

Now I've checked my mileage posting and am very confused / worried...

I appear to only have 4630 miles :( when In theory on this calculation I should have 19890? But if they have chopped my membership year (starting on the 19th) I want to cry... that effectively means i've just done a trip and thrown away 15260 membership status miles in the same weekend i've done the trip!!

Please can anyone comment on if this is the case? and if so if there is anything at all I can do about it, as I wouldn't have done this little trip that weekend if I knew the "status" miles would come to nothing?

Previously bmi.com didn't even tell me when my membership year ran to-from so I had no idea? ... I assumed it would start when I started earning membership points, as in the 15/11 and run for a year from then?

I nervously await any replies... Andy

What you should have is 7630+4630 miles as you lose 3k for the blue+ upgrade.

Looks like an admin error. You should probably have 12260 destination miles.

A pm to 'diamond club' or a mail to diamond.club AT flybmi.com should get this resolved for you.

What was the load like in PE BTW?

I was advised to call back tomorrow after 10am so I'll try that and if I get no luck I'll pm or e diamond club... There seemed to be a few staff members traveling in PE from what I could gather and a couple in business..

PE was full, both ways and Business was 70% full, with 2 upgrades from Economy on the way out, at a whopping £640 (or there abouts) each one way...

Also one of the centre back (row 15) seats are reserved for flight deck crew rest in each direction on MAN - LAS..

Presumably they have cut the bars in Y for the same reason that VS did...

Too many stag weekends = too many drunks to deal with

Not much chance to use a GUV here then.

How full was Y?

Doubt it as the OP reported they we're selling drinks from the PE allocation, I'd be p*ssed off if they emptied the supplies of my drink to sell to Y if I was in PE.

Having flown MAN-ORD earlier this month in PE, I can say that there were about 3 free seats each way in PE; Biz was full both ways, Economy nearly full. So I could have used GUVs but hadn't want to risk it for the sake of the extra 200 or so on the fare at the time I booked.

Service very attentive.

Food wasn't great either way, I agree. On the way out the chicken in coconut and sesame curry sauce was better than the "Beef bery served with carrots, peas and garlic sauce" on the way back. I suspect the butternut squash risotto would have been better on the way out.

The icecream is Ben and Jerry's on this route rather than Haagen Daz (strawberry cheese cake, or vanilla on the return).

I don't know what the breakfast was like on the return as I slept through it:).

Immigration at ORD took longer than it has taken me for quite a while as we landed just behind another flight, but they were pretty good about moving us foreigners across to the empty US lines :).

I find it surprising that you guys found the food in PE not so great. We travelled LAS-MAN in Bus in Sept and noticed a vast improvement in the meals as compared to our last flight (ORD-MAN).

I also recall reading somewhere (perhaps in the BD mag) that they were improving the quality of the onboard catering. I know C class meals are prepared by the onboard chef but I would have thought that they would make an effort to improve catering accross the board-not just in C class.

I'd not flown PE transatlantic with BD before so can't comment on whether it was an improvement or not. It was quite edible and I'm not complaining; I paid the extra money for the seat, not the food.
