MilesBuzz! - miles transfer: Air Baltic - SAS - Miles & More
BA recently cut routes to the Baltic States where I travel frequently from London. I now fly SAS or Air Baltic to avoid FRA transfers/misadventures. My 2nd choice FFP is Miles&More/Star.
I joined Air Baltic and SAS miles programs to transfer Air Baltic miles to SAS and then to Miles&More. I haven't tried to transfer yet.
I probably overcomplicated this, but does anyone have any similar miles transfer expereinces in this region/programs? Thanks!

Do airBaltic have an FFP of their own? I fly with them on a regular basis, never seen any such info.

no they don't. Air Baltic and Estonian Air both use SAS Eurobonus.

They use the barest possible lone SAS program wiith almost no advantage or partner benefit (They literally tell you that they never heard of * Alliance), which makes little difference as mis-crediting is frequent. I equally experienced their site to be deceptive and a tool for online robbery. Sadly enough for US NYC residents, they cannot be taken to a NY Small Claims Court as they lack a formal place of business in the city. Though they are owned by SAS, look like SAS, quack like SAS and fail passengers like SAS, I verified that the SAS link is not sufficient to make them liable in such a court.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but it is usually not possible to transfer miles between the programmes of different airlines, even if those airlines are in the same alliance.
There are very few exceptions to this rule, but Lufthansa/SAS is not a possible combination. Any miles you accrue on SAS can be used to redeem flights on any Star Alliance airline (assuming you have enough SAS miles for an award), but transferring miles to another programme is not an option.

I am flying regularly with Air Baltic and accumulating the miles though a SAS account.
The SAS miles are not transferable to any other * alliance program.
My recommendation: Keep your major mileage account with another * alliance airline where you can accumulate all other flights. Use the SAS account for Air Baltic only.
