Hilton HHonors - Embassy, Buckhead, Atlanta--double points

I received an email from this hotel with the following information to collect double base points on stays in the near future.

Earning double Hilton HHonors Base Points is easy when you're traveling to Atlanta. Just book Plan Code HH0 and stay between November 24, 2007, and February 29, 2008 at the Embassy Suites Atlanta - Buckhead where you'll enjoy premier accommodations and service.

I've tried to make reservations during several different dates (all within this promotion period though) and I always get that there are no dates available.

I called in house reservations at the hotel, and they seem to think that the system doesn't have any in yet, as Nov. 24th hasn't made it here yet. We'll see...

Slightly OT: This hotel and I don't seem to get along. After a four year period of boycotting it (due to consistent bad service, and an overcharge), I returned for a Saturday night a month ago. Room was decent, but the service still was second rate. Sunday morning's breakfast was a free-for-all. There were a ton of families and the breakfast staff could not deal with the crowds. Stood in line for 15 minutes to order an omelette (there were about ten people in front of me). The person two people directly in front of me ordered six breakfasts, and the person behind her ordered four breakfasts from the cooks. I recognize this is not the kitchen's fault, but it's enough for me to take another four year sabbatical.

Also on Sunday morning, the valet took just under minutes to get my car. AFAIK there was only one person ahead of me. Maybe weekdays with business travelers are more calm....

Switched Sunday night to the Ritz Carlton - Buckhead for the remainder of the week, and got mediocre service also. Guess I should stay out of Buckhead!

Just my 2-cents....

I had a pretty good stay at this hotel recently. The hotel has decent decor but the service is somewhat average. The Intercontinental is next door and I LOVE it so I usually pick it over the Embassy. I am DIA with Hilton and RA with Intercontinental so status is just about equal.
