Budget Travel - Claiming tax and charges back from Easyjet
Hi
I am not going to fly this weekend on a booked easyjet flight. I understand that I can claim the tax and charges back has anyone had experience of this?

So... looking at your other post you are going to forfeit tickets with Easyjet because Ryanair has given you a better deal?
As you correctly say, Easyjet tickets are non-refundable (that's pretty much the norm in the airline industry, except for full-fare tickets with some carriers).
Easyjet's T&Cs say that they will refund taxes and charges, minus an administration fee. They don't say how much that administration fee is, but if they're the same as Ryanair then the administration fee will be more than the taxes and charges so there will be no point in claiming it.
So... it looks like those 1p Ryanair tickets will, in fact, cost you 1p plus the cost of the Easyjet tickets. Maybe you should go back to Plan A and fly with Easyjet after all - you get a better service.

EasyJet isn't necessarily better service... I find the way they hawk their lottery scratchcard things to be much more annoying than anything Ryanair does. Ryanair might also fit his schedule better, or something, who knows.
That said, easyJet's site http://easyjet.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/easyjet.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=30 seems pretty clear that they won't give any sort of refund. The taxes and fees on easyJet are a lot lower than on Ryanair and others, so it is unlikely there would be anything significant left after "administration fee" anyway.
Thanks,
No my travel plans changed I was going to France for a game of rugby but was let down by others and then sometime later the Ryanair deal came up so as I had already made my mind up that I was not going to France I booked a trip with them with the family.
Technically I could make both trips but the change over in flights is not generous time wise.
I use both airlines a lot and I prefer Easyjet however lately they have let me down, eg cancelling my flight back from Bucharest, making me have to book back with BA.
I have heard that is possible to reclaim certainly taxes and maybe charges but I do not know of any who has actually done it.
I will report back next week
Claimed back the charges and taxes today, got £13.00 back from £59 so at least it was something. They did not charge for doing it however which was a surprise, although i feel the charges were higher than £3 when I booked so mabey they did and did not tell me.
