Virgin Atlantic Flying Club - Chances of using miles for upgrade

My flight currently shows as K7 on expert flyer - what are the chances of me being able to upgrade for miles at the airport?

It depends on whether you bought an upgradable fare/ticket and if so I would upgrade now as the K7 may be less at the airport.

Technically, no, a K fare cant be upgraded with miles. In actuality, all bets are off at the airport and you may be allowed. All seems to depend on the check-in agent, the route you are flying and loads on the day. It certainly doesnt hurt to ask.

I have had mixed results at LHR. First time allowed us to upgrade with no hesitation (infact they never EVER deducted the miles). Second time they said NO. The best bet is to go to the ticket desk before checking in. Goodluck.
