Asia - Airside Transit LH-CO at MNL - questions

Hello,

I am planing to travel from FRA to ROR via Manila (Terminal 1) on Lufthansa and then on Continental.
Both airlines are supposed to operate from Terminal 1 at MNL. Due to visa regulations I cannot just enter the philippines and check-in again from the land side.

Does anyone of you has experiences with an airside transit at this airport/terminal?
Are there any facilities or even a transit hotel?
Is 180 mins enough to make the transfer? Is there any transfer desk to check-in with CO?

Thank you,

CL

I will move this thread to its natural home, the Asia FT forum where, hopefully, you will find posters who can address this issue. Thanks for your understanding.

Never done a transfer at MNL, so the only one I can help with is: transit hotel, nothing even vaguely close to that!

There is a transfer desk airside, just before you reach immigration. I have never used it but it is generally manned (or wommanned) by 2 or 3 people and has placards of all the major airlines posted in the background. Based on that, I would say airside transit should be no problem. Otherwise NAIA Terminal 1 sucks bigtime unless you have lounge access. 180 minutes would be plenty of time if you don't have to clear immigration.
