Las Vegas - Buying a camera in Vegas
Am going to be in Vegas this week and comparing prices I can get much better deal at Circuit City than buying the same Canon model in the UK.
Is Circuit City a good choice or can any locals suggest anywhere better please ?

You can check out pricing on each store's respective website to get an idea of pricing for digital cameras.
Electronic stores: Circuit City, Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, CompUSA
Office supply stores: Staples, Office Depot, OfficeMax
Some websites allows you to check if an item is in stock. Use zip code 89109 for stores near the strip.

I would drive a little farther and go down to Fry's. Head south on Las Vegas Blvd until you see it on the right side.

There is also a camera store in the Outlet Mall south of Frys. It seemed to have good prices when I was there last year
Thanks am staying at the Orleans so will track the prices and the locations as I presently won't have a car (on vacation I don't need my head messed up with that wrong side of the road driving ;) ). Will grab a cab. The list of stores is really helpful-thank you.

There is a bus in front of the Orleans that will take you to many of the stores.

That'll be a branch of Ritz Cameras / Wolf Cameras. Prices were not bad, but they didn't have the best of stock for what I was wanting (Ultrawide Canon EOS lens). I ended up in a really nice specialist shop (Sams, maybe?) about half a dozen blocks east of the Hooters Casino (and no, I wasn't staying there, just happened to use it as a reference point.

Wolf/Ritz is a good shop but their prices are not very competitive. They are more of a service-oriented place.
What I would do this: Check out the usual outlets (www.circuitcity.com , www.bestbuy.com , www.frys.com ), compare the prices (you may need to enter a zip code, Vegas is 89101 [and others]), and then go down to the shop that has the best price, and pick up the camera. That should get you the best deal. I suspect that www.frys.com will be cheaper, but CC and BB may have sales that week. Entering the zip code on the websites will give you the current local sales prices.

Second the comment on Wolf and Ritz. You'll get a lot better advice there but it sounds like you don't need that.
It's rare for either CC or BB to beat Fry's prices unless they have a good sale on.

as long as a sale item is in stock, other comparable stores will consider a price match.
