Hello. I will be travelling in April from SFO-CDG (and on to FCO). I will be travelling in Tempo SFO-CDG, though thankfully in Affaires on the return CDG-SFO. Do you have any recommendations for the best Tempo seat and best Affaires seat on the 744? I am an Delta Elite frequent flier.

Additionally, on the return, I will need to overnight at CDG (arrive 5pm; depart 10am the next morning). Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced (~$100-$150) hotel at or near CDG?

Thanks for your help.

If you are traveling solo in Business Class there is a single seat in the middle of the aft part of the C class section of the 747 that would be kind of private. I prefer a window, and I found the rest of the pairs in C to be pretty much the same.

As for hotels in or near CDG, there is a very nice Sheraton at the airport, and a slew of affordable hotels less than 15 minutes down the road - many are Accor which are completely fine. The dollar is so weak right now - so I would stay in Roissy in the hotel zone, which will be far less than the Sheraton. You might check with JOUY31 - he is wildly knowledgeable about CDG and the area.

The Hilton Roissy Charles de Gaulle is not bad - and can have rates as low as 90 EUR on weekends. Else, poke around tripadvisor.com and take your pick of paris arpt hotels.

I think the best tempo seats on the 744 are on the upper deck ; your DL elite status should grant you access. On the day of departure ask for row 65 (the exit row). Bon voyage !

Thanks to all for your replies. Any idea if the window seats in the first row on the Upper Deck in Tempo (e.g. 60A) is better/worse (legroom?) than the other seats up there? Right now I've reserved 60A. (Can't get 65A until check-in). Thanks.

60A is my fav! Lot of legroom so you can exit your seat with very minimum disturbance of your neighbors. Beside, you get your own private storage compartment on your side, and you can use it to extend your legs. great window view. I love 60A ^

Hi Keisari; If it is a version with 36 business and 236 tempo, try to get seat 18D or 18G. They have no seats in front and it's the second row of tempo.
