I have seen lots of threads here looking for discounted show tickets. There is actually a site now that offers FREE tickets (and/or 1/2 price) on the day of the show.

Be forewarned: Registering to this site means you get tons of emails offering tickets, and I meant 20-30 or more per day at a minimum! The shows are usually not the "A" list, but hey - free is good, and even 1/2 price isn't bad.

These tickets are ONLY for the day of the show, so if you don't live here, you have to log on in at your hotel on the day you want to go and call ASAP when the shows are posted.

Here's the link:

Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with that website and am only listing it for locals and others who might want to see what is out there, for free or 1/2 price, on the day of the show. And I repeat, they tend to spam you to death with ticket offers, but that is why god created a delete button.

Reading their FAQ is says you need to show a Nevada ID to pick up the tickets.

Hmm...that is indeed what it says, although for the few shows I have gone to see, they have never asked to see the ID...but thanks for pointing that out!
Sorry for any false hopes I might have caused.
Well, I guess you could always get one of us locals to come pick up the tickets for ya...buy me a beer and I'll meet you at the box office.

They have always required my local id. The purpose of their program is to expose locals to selected shows. In turn, we refer our out-of-town friends who purchase tickets. While I appreciate the communal spirit of FT, massive signups of non-locals will dilute the benefits of this program and cause it to go away.

If indeed they require local ID, then there's no reason for angst.

If they don't care, and they allow anyone to partake in their program, then I'm not really sure why you do. Can't visitors talk up a show as well as a local?

P.S. IMO, it's really not in the spirit of FlyerTalk to discourage the sharing of information, though I see more and more posts from people here imploring others to keep things "secret". Yours didn't quite to do that, but it had that feel.

I think the objective is the casinos want sold-out shows even if they have to give away the tickets. They figure tourists will pay so they don't make the offer to them.

Being a local I signed up for it. So far it's all been shows I hadn't heard of but there were multiple offers for free ones. The longest a free offer lasted is 5 hours.

Now I have to teach my spam filter to put them in a new bucket rather than the spam bucket.
